The Tremiti Islands: how to get there with Netferry

Are you looking for a holiday that combines beaches, nature and culture? Then Netferry has the right destination for you: the Tremiti islands.  The Tremiti Islands are just off the coast of Puglia and are known as the 'pearls of the Gargano'. The Gargano is a little bump of land that juts into the Adriatic before the heel of Italy. The surrounding water is deep turquoise and the islands are rich in rich flora and fauna.

The Tremiti archipelago is formed of five islands, the most densely populated island is San Domino, and then there are San Nicola, Cretaccio, Capraia and Pianosa.  Capraia and Pianosa are two uninhabited islets without any human trace and they are protected nature reserves.  The Island of San Nicola is beautiful, it has a great castle in the historic centre and a Benedictine abbey to visit.

The Island of San Domino is full of natural wonders and it’s a great idea to take a boat trip to look at the Punta dell'Elefante, a natural cave where the rock formation resembles an elephant drinking. There are also plenty of water sports available in the Tremiti Islands, such as snorkelling and diving, there is a marine archaeological park to discover as well as plenty of walks and bike rides to do.
