The port of Marsala is a small port mostly used to reach the Egadi Islands, off the west coast of Sicily. The port terminal is located in the city centre, so surrounded by bars and restaurants. The terminal is easily reached on foot in less than ten minutes. Taxis are also available from the city centre for those carrying luggage.
Getting to and from the ferry terminal
The port of Marsala is well-connected and accessible by car, train, plane and bus. By car, travelling from Palermo, take the A29 motorway towards Trapani and then the E90 towards Marsala. From Catania, take the A19 that leads directly to Marsala and from Agrigento, follow the SS115, E90 and SS115 towards Marsala. The municipality provides parking on via Giulio Anca Omodei and closes at 01:00 each night, it is completely free.
For foot passengers, Marsala is connected to the main Sicilian cities by the railway network but the connections often take a long time, intercity buses are quicker. From the airport of Trapani, you can reach the city centre thanks to the Salemi’s Autoline, which connects the port to the main towns of eastern Sicily.
The closest international airport, Trapani Vincenzo Florio is about 15 km from the port of Marsala and takes about 25 minutes. Palermo Falcone e Borsellino is about 105 km from the port of Marsala and takes about 1 hour and a half.
