NetFerry recommends five of the best beaches in Montenegro
Today with Netferry, discover Montenegro, one of the most beautiful Balkan countries bathed by the Adriatic Sea. The country is becoming increasingly popular as a tourist destination for European travellers because it offers varied landscapes and beaches that are second to none. In this blog, Netferry offers you five unmissable beaches off the beaten track in Montenegro, follow our advice to avoid the crowds, and guarantee tranquillity.
In Petrovazzo - Petrovac, located in the middle of the Montenegrin coast, there is a beach perfect for families with children, head to the Bay of Lučice. Surrounded by nature and located near the lovely town of Petrovac, this beach will not disappoint. Then if you head towards Bar, there is a sandy beach in the Bay of Buljarica, overlooked by a beautiful monastery.
Now let's move south along the Montenegrin coast, towards the ancient town of Ulcinj. The coastline around here offers long expanses of fine sand lapped by the clear waters of the Adriatic Sea. Some stretches are up to 13 kilometres of flat sand, so they are perfect for water sports like kite and windsurfing, thanks to the breeze. Do not miss Velika Plaza, a 4-kilometre long dark sand beach full of great value restaurants and bars! If you want to eat excellent fish at a moderate price, do not miss the beach near the mouth of the Ada Bojana river, the nearby restaurant fills the air with the scent of fresh seafood, and there is accommodation just a few meters from the beach.
Do not miss Kraljicina Beach during your trip, it's a lovely beach full of red and green pebbles, its crescent shape allows you to have different views of the coastline, and there are umbrellas and deck chairs to hire for just €10 per day, including the use of the toilets and Bar. There are plenty of apartments to rent nearby, being situated just a few meters from the centre of town.
Dobrec is a beach on the south coast, where the water is clear and the cleanest in the country. It is a very romantic place that can only be reached by boat, as dunes protect it. After spending a few hours lying in the Montenegrin sun and bathing in the crystalline waters, treat yourself to lunch at a nearby restaurant.
And finally, leave the famous city of Kotor behind you and continue around the bay towards the village of Lepetane to a wonderfully quiet beach. Sun, sea and good food on the beach await you after a little ferry trip from Kamenari!
